Our Studio Philosophy
Record Press Play is an engineer-led recording studio built around focused, collaborative music production. We believe great recordings come from an environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and thoughtful collaboration without unnecessary distractions. Every session is personally overseen by a studio engineer, with an emphasis on musicianship, sound, and the creative process. To preserve that environment, we maintain a professional working atmosphere with limited attendance, supervised equipment use, and a shared respect for everyone’s time and contributions.
Our goal is simple: to create an environment where artists can focus on making their best work.
01 • Session Personnel Only
Record Press Play maintains a private, focused recording environment. Attendance is limited to individuals directly involved in the scheduled session. Guests, spectators, and other nonessential personnel are not permitted. Any exceptions must be approved by the studio in advance.
Control room occupancy is limited to six people at any given time, including the resident engineer.
02 • Engineer-Led Sessions
Record Press Play is a professionally operated, engineer-led recording facility, not a self-service studio rental.
All recording sessions are conducted by the studio’s resident engineer. Independent operation of the facility or its recording systems is not permitted.
03 • Outside Production Personnel
Outside producers, engineers, and other production personnel may participate only with prior studio approval. Exceptions may be considered for established professionals whose experience and approach are compatible with the studio’s working environment.
Approval to participate does not grant permission to operate studio equipment or recording systems. All equipment handling, signal routing, and technical recording operations remain under the direction of the resident engineer.
04 • Professional Conduct
Clients are expected to maintain a respectful, professional, and productive working environment. Disruptive behavior, horseplay, or conduct that interferes with the session is not permitted.
Creative experimentation and an enjoyable atmosphere are encouraged.
05 — Respect the Recording Process
Please remain attentive during recording, playback, and critical listening. Unnecessary conversations, interruptions, and distractions should be minimized when performances are being captured or production decisions are being made.
06 — Studio Equipment & Instruments
Studio equipment, microphones, instruments, amplifiers, and recording systems may only be handled or operated with permission.
Clients may not move, disconnect, reconfigure, or adjust studio equipment without authorization. Food and beverages must be kept away from equipment and instruments.
07 — Smoking & Vaping
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the studio.
08 — Session Preparation
Clients are expected to arrive on time and prepared with the instruments, materials, and session files necessary for their scheduled work.
Please notify the studio in advance of any unusual instruments, outside equipment, or special technical requirements.
Setup, instrument changes, breaks, and breakdown are included within the scheduled session time unless otherwise agreed in advance.
09 — Photography, Video & Social Media
Photography, video recording, livestreaming, and social media content creation require prior approval and must not interfere with the recording process.
10 — Studio Access & Privacy
Clients must remain within designated session areas. Access to equipment storage, technical areas, and restricted parts of the facility requires authorization.
The privacy of other artists, unreleased recordings, and confidential studio projects must be respected.
11 — Minors
Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present on the premises throughout the recording session.
Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis and require prior studio approval and a signed parental or legal guardian consent and liability waiver.
12 — Respect for the Facility
All clients are expected to treat the studio, its equipment, instruments, and furnishings with care. Clients may be held responsible for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or unauthorized handling of studio property, subject to applicable booking terms and law.
Record Press Play reserves the right to discontinue a session or require an individual to leave when conduct creates an unsafe situation, causes or threatens damage to property, substantially disrupts the recording process, or interferes with the safe and professional operation of the facility.
